{Turkey Day}

Thanksgiving à la francaise was a huge success. All 15 people showed up, although lacking in automnal attire. Its what you get for celebrating with amateurs. Made mashed sweet potatoes for simplicity's sake. Green beans are always easy. Turkey was excellent. And the stuffing was not at all like Baboo's but was good nonetheless. Took plenty of pictures. And as they say over here: "Appy Sanksgiving." Gotta love the french.

{Just A Normal Sunday}

Slept in this morning.

Went to Cafe Le Grillon for coffee and to read the paper. Wrote a few letters. Listened to the radio a little. Going to Monoprix to get something for dinner tonight.

Sweet potato mission was a success. Found some at the little produce store just across the street from me actually. I didn't think he'd have any because its such a small store. I told him how crucial they were to this meal. He got a kick out of it. Now if only I knew that the turkey was going to fit in the oven... hum.

PS> Having Thanksgiving on Friday because Thursday I have a class until 7.

{Saturday, 11/20?}

Saw "Moi, Peter Sellers" last night with Bruno. He liked it, I didn't.

Thanksgiving in France is gonna have to be Friday instead of Thursday this week. Found a turkey. Found cranberries. The only thing left is the sweet potatoes... hum. Wish me luck with that one.

Met Tim (an english kid from my French Civ class) and 3 spaniards (Irena, Angela, &... can't remember the guy's name) this morning. Took the bus to Mt. Saint Victoire, just outside of Aix. 1 Euro 10 for each way. Nice weather too. Planned on hiking up to the top but ended up on one of the side slopes instead. Had lunch on the mountain and looked out over the vineyards: oh so nice. (pancetta, mozzarella, and tomato panini if you were wondering.)

Off to the cafes to get some work done before tonight.

Must find sweet potatoes!

{Saturday Night}

Night out in Marseille. Spent the afternoon with Anni until we met up with friends at a tea room by the Old Port. Dinner at a friends house. Didn't finish eating until 11 so we just stayed at the house talking until 2 in the morning. So it wasn't technically a night out, but it was outside of Aix so that counts.

Tried calling Grandma and Grandpa to say happy 50th but couldn't get through. I'll call this afternoon. Hope the party went well.

Normal coffee and the newspaper this morning at Cafe le Grillon, will work this afternoon and finish the day by sitting around doing nothing! Yay!

{All Saints Day}

Woke up this morning to go to class. Streets were empty, stores were closed, and of course I didn't realize it was a holiday. So I walked all the way to school only to find the building completely locked down. Went to Le Festival to read the paper and drink more coffee instead of class.

Been raining for the last few days. Nice today however. Warm and sunny.

Leaves are still starting to change color.

"All I want for Christmas is" 3 pancakes, side of bacon, 2 eggs sunny side up, an endless cup of decaf coffee and one of those little plastic creamers you get at Uncle Bills. Yum.
